Printhead Maintenance Guide
Regularly turn on the DTF printer :
If the printer has not been used recently, it is recommended to operate it at least every three days. Once the printer is powered on, the DTF printer will automatically activate the white ink circulation system. After that, you can press the automatic cleaning function button on the panel or use the software driver to perform printhead cleaning and nozzle checks.
Use the moisturizing device:
If you do not use the printer for a long time, you can remove the ink cartridges and connect an external moisturizing device. The reservoir of this device contains a special moisturizing fluid that keeps the print head moist even when the printer is not in use.
How to clean the printhead?
In most cases, if the printhead is clogged, you can clean it in the following ways.
1. Press the ink button on the printer panel or use the print head cleaning function in the printer driver.
2. If the waste ink cannot be flushed out after being washed, use a syringe to suck waste ink straight out of the waste ink tube. Do it a few times until waste ink is ejected, then perform another nozzle cleaning and nozzle check.
3. Soaking method: Soak print head and ink pad in nozzle-cleaning solution to loosen any dried-up ink and foreign matter.
4. Powerful ink flushing: If the print head is clogged, except for the C13 and C13A models, you can try to use this method to clear the blockage. However, we do not recommend this method because it will greatly reduce the life of the print head after using it once.
How often should you replace the printhead?
If the printhead is still not usable normally after cleaning, then replace the printhead. The printhead is a consumable part and has to be replaced from time to time after an amount of use. It should be replaced every three months.
