Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing is an emerging technology that has garnered significant attention in the textile printing industry in recent years. This method involves printing designs directly onto a specialized transfer film, which is then transferred onto various fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends.DTF printing offers new possibilities for custom apparel and production.

DTF Printing Process

  1. Design Creation: Utilize graphic design software to create the desired artwork or design.

  2. Printing: Use DTF transfer printer print the design onto a specialized PET transfer film using a dedicated DTF printer and DTF inks.

  3. Powder Application: Apply a layer of hot-melt adhesive powder onto the wet ink, ensuring it uniformly covers the entire design area.

  4. Curing: Heat the powdered transfer film to melt the adhesive powder, allowing it to bond with the ink.

  5. Transfer: Place the cured transfer film onto the target fabric and use a heat press at specific temperature and pressure settings to transfer the design onto the fabric.

  6. Cooling and Peeling: After allowing the fabric to cool, gently peel off the transfer film, leaving the design successfully transferred onto the fabric.
